The 2016 Bill Pierce Memorial Golf tournament held on July 1, 2016 was another huge success thanks to all that participated with service as well as those with donations!  Final numbers should be available soon, but the preliminary numbers look much better than previous years.

After several years of rain delays, this Friday was a day made for golf and everyone was careful to maintain proper hydration (as evidenced by a 40% increase in beer consumption!)

Co-chairs Maura Donnelly and Kevin Dewaele are pretty confident that Team Citrus will have no chance of beating Team Golf this year.  Kevin observed that Team Citrus’ golf challenge was impossible to win commenting, “A blind person could have threaded a needle easier the hitting a golf ball through that lifesaver target.”  That’s pretty bold  smack-talk, Kevin!

Maura, attempting to keep the peace, added, “All kidding aside, I believe a great time was had by everyone that came out, including our Interact Students who tempted players into trying their chipping skills out by the pond.  Lots of fun clever ideas and a great way to start off the 4th of July weekend this year!”

Aside from any snide comments from Team Citrus, Maura and Kevin are always glad to hear comments and suggestions anyone might have for next year’s event.  You might even want to consider joining Team Golf!
